Electric dust collector

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly usable vacuum cleaner capable of the precise power control by determining a plurality of detection signals whose characteristics match the size of dust. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner comprises a dust detecting means 10, a separation signal output means 11 for outputting a first dust detection signal to react to the dust of a prescribed size from the output of the dust detection means 10 and a second dust detection signal to react to the dust of a different larger size, and a determination control means 9. The quantity of electric power to be fed to an electric blower 2 is controlled by the determination control means 9 via a driving means 8 based on the result of output of the signals. With this structure, the electric blower can be more precisely controlled as the size of dust is determined based on the detection signal suitable for smaller dust and the detection signal suitable for larger dust.
