Disc cartridge

A disc cartridge comprising cartridge bodies (11, 12), shutters (21, 22), a disc holding section, and a falling prevention member (23). The cartridge body has a disc opening part (12w) and a bottom part (11u) and rotatably receives a disc (100) with one side of the disc (100) exposed to the outside. Bottom openings (11c, 11h) for chucking the disc and allowing access of a head are provided in the bottom. The shutters (21, 22) open or close the bottom openings (11c, 11h) with respect to the outside. A rotating member (25) is supported rotatably on the cartridge bodies (11, 12) and engages with the shutters (21, 22) such that the shutters (21, 22) perform open/close operation when the rotating member is rotated. Disc holding sections (21d, 22c, 22d) are interlocked with the open/close operation of the shutters (21, 22) to fix or release the disc (100). The falling prevention member (23) is supported movably with respect to the cartridge body such that it takes a state projecting into the disc opening (12w) and a state not projecting into the disc opening (12w). The disc holding sections (21d, 22c, 22d) are interlocked with the falling prevention member (23) and release the disc (100) when the falling prevention member (23) takes a state not projecting into the disc opening (12w).
