Method and system for de-registering a broadcast/multicast service in a high-rate packet data system

PURPOSE: A method for releasing a broadcast service in a high-speed packet data system is provided to transmit a broadcast service identifier and a corresponding traffic identifier to an upper system if a user requests a broadcast service to be released, and to perform a billing process based on a moment when the service is registered and a moment when the service is released, thereby preventing wired/wireless resources from being used up. CONSTITUTION: An AT(Access Terminal) receives a broadcast service from a PDSN(a), and transmits a de-registration message including information on the broadcast service to an AN(Access Network)(b). The AN sends a BCMCS release message to a PCF(c). The PCF loads the broadcast service information on a BCMCS registration request message, and sends the message to the PDSN(d). The PDSN processes a broadcast service billing function, and forwards a BCS registration reply message to the PCF(e). The PCF transmits a BCS release complete message to the AN(f).
