Zusammenfassung:An optical reproducing apparatus having a photo detector using a laser diode of two wavelengths. A 16-split photo diode for detecting laser beams respectively for a DVD and a CD enables an optical pick-up compatible with a wide variety of optical discs to be achieved by applying the laser diode of two wavelengths. Focusing error signals and tracking error signals are detected by using different methods according to a type of optical disc, improving production yield and decreasing manufacturing costs of a multi-disc reproduction apparatus.
