This invention relates to a method for recording and managing information in zero-signal zones when disk device records and plays or edits based on it including, 1, judging if there are signals in the input signals 2, generating information displaying the beginning and ending positions in the zero-signal zone to mange said disk record. The information of the beginning and ending positions of the record is recorded in the disk when there is no signal, so that detection and jump are automatically carried out when playing and only the recorded signals excepting zero-signals zones are duplicated so as to reduce the complicated process.
