The channels are capillaries with diameters in the mm region or below, and the plate has other microstructures, through which the liquid flows. Plate for handling a wetting liquid has cavities and channels for transporting the liquid with an inlet and outlet, where the channels have different cross-sections. The channels are capillaries with diameters in the mm region or below, and the plate has other microstructures, through which the liquid flows. These are chosen from: (a) fluidic switches with a capillary stop in the transition from a narrow to a wide capillary and a control capillary connected to the capillary stop; (b) dosing units comprising a capillary stop and T-junction with a liquid storage chamber between them; (c) separators for isolating liquids from dispersions with a capillary gap which is connected to a channel; and (d) zones for storing predetermined amounts of liquid with microstructures which are at right angles to the base of the plate, between which is an intermediate chamber which is intermediate in size to them.
