The glass composition consists of (in the molar portions of oxides): SiO2 59-65, B2O3 6-11, Al2O3 8-16, MgO 2-10, CaO 3-11, and SrO 0.2-6 except alkali metal impurities, with MgO + CaO + SrO being 10-19, (MgO + CaO + SrO)/Al2O3 being 0.85-1.5, and (0.3MgO + 0.7CaO + 0.7SrO)/Al2O3 being 0.45-0.85.
