The invention relates to a method for testing multimedia recording and playing device, testing a multimedia recording and playing device by a host computer, and including: reading an operating signal, which is the one of an input device of the multimedia recording and playing device simulated by the host computer; obtaining a key-press code of the operating signal by a parameter testing list stored in the host computer; outputting a corresponding control signal to the key-press code; transmitting the control signal to a multimedia recording and playing device; and detecting and receiving an output signal from the multimedia recording and playing device. It can make a large amount of quick test on a multimedia recording and playing device and reduce bad products caused by artificial factors.
