Zusammenfassung:A process for preparing N-substituted indole derivatives, comprising subjecting N-hydroxymethyl fatty group acidamide with indole or indole derivatives in alcohol or acetic acid with the presence of catalyst, and separating the reaction product, characterized in that the catalyst is type H strong acidic positive ion exchange resin, and the indole derivative is 3-dimethylamino methylindole, 5,6-dichloroindole, 5,6-dibromoindole, 3-dimethylaminomethyl-5,6-dichloroindole, 3-dimethylaminomethyl-5, 6-dibromoindole, 3-dimethylaminomethyl-5, 6-difluorindole, 3-dimethylaminomethyl-2,5,6-trichloroindole, 3-dimethylaminomethyl-2, 5, 6-tribromoindole or 4-bromoindole. the type H strong acidic positive ion exchange resin is sulphonated coal, sulfonated phenylethene and divinylbenzens copolymer or sulfonated phenol formaldehyde resin.
