Zusammenfassung:The present invention relates to a method of, a system for, and a computer program product for providing a service via a communication line, and more particularly to a method of, a system for, and a computer program product for providing a service via a communication line accompanied by a settlement. Upon providing a service via a communication line for a communication unit (20) on the side of a service user, the computer (30) of the settlement institute is requested by the computer (10) of the service provider to charge a line connection fee to the settlement account of the service user, the computer of the settlement institute is operative to judge whether or not it is possible to charge a predetermined amount of the communication connection fee to the settlement account of the service user, charge a minimum amount of the communication connection fee to the settlement account of the service user as a charging process if it is judged that it is possible, and transmit a report indicative of a result of the charging process to the computer of the service provider, and the computer of the service provider is operative to determine whether or not the service is permitted in accordance with the report indicative of the result of the charging process.
