Method of eliminating alkali matter in toluene

The method of eliminating alkali matter in toluene is to make toluene containing alkali matter pass through acid granulated white clay bed layer at the operation temperature 40-150 deg.c. operation pressure 0.5-1.5 MPa and liquid space velocity 1.0-3.0 /hr. The acid granulated white clay has a specific surface area of 150-200 sq m/g and acidity of pH 3-5. The toluene product always contains alkali matter and this limits its application range. The method of the present invention eliminates the alkali matter via extracting and distillation process to obtain toluene product without alkali matterand this raises the quality of the toluene product.
