Zusammenfassung: | Antibiotic WAP-8294A or its salt, with the following physico-chemical properties is new: (i) white powder (ii) m.pt. 213-220[deg]C (decomposed); (iii) soluble in water, MeOH, n-BuOH, DMF, and DMSO, insol. in acetone, EtOAc and CHCl3; (iv) gives positive ninhydrin, Ehrlich, Rydon-Smith, KMnO4, H2SO4, and iodine vapour colour reactions, negative in Molisch, AgNO3, and Dragendorff reactions, with UV spot from 254 nm radiation; (v) HPLC peaks at 4.0-6.1; 8.0; 11.1; 12.5; 16.5; 17.9 and 18.8 min; (vi) UV lambda max. 275, 280, 287 nm; (vii) NMR in D2O complex; (ix) mol. wt. 1400-1700; (x) elements contained C, H, O and N; (xi) acid hydrolysis gives Asp, Glu, Gly, Leu, Ser, Trp, Orn, N-Me-Val, beta -hydroxyaspartic acid, and N-Me-Phe; (xii) alpha -D/20[deg]C +42[deg]C (c = 0.5, water); and (xiii) amphoteric properties. Also new is a microoganism belonging to the genus Lysobacter and having the ability to produce WAP-8294A, more specifically the sp. WAP-8294 (FERM-BP 4990). |
