Zusammenfassung: | The present invention provides a process for producing a dimethyldecanedioic acid represented by the general formula (II) HOOC-CH2-CH(CH3)-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH(A)-CH(B)-CH2-COOH wherein either of A and B represents a methyl group and the rest represents a hydrogen atom, which comprises oxidizing a dimethyldecanedial represented by the general formula (I) OHC-CH2-CH(CH3)-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH(A)-CH(B)-CH2-CHO wherein either of A and B represents a methyl group and the rest represents a hydrogen atom. The present invention provides a dimethyldecanedial represented by the general formula (I).
