Zusammenfassung:	An optical fibre coating process involves adjusting the fibre temperature prior to application of a polymerisable coating material to achieve the polymerisation temperature of the material to form a coating. Also claimed is an optical fibre coating process involving application (13) of a polymerisable coating material, polymerisation (15), application (17) of a second polymerisable coating material and polymerisation (19), in which the fibre temperature is adjusted (14) prior to application of the second coating material to achieve its polymerisation temperature. Preferably, temperature adjustment is also effected before any further coating material application steps. Further claimed are units for carrying out the above optical fibre coating processes.
