Its advantages are small size, low noise and low pressure of working medium. Many such units can be serially connected to fully use the expansion work of working medium. The potential energy of gas or liquid can be directly transformed into rotating movement. It can be used to design engines, pneumatic or hydraulic parts, pumps or flowmeters.
