The method comprises the following steps: collecting respective discharge pulse signals at a plurality of preset monitoring points on a target transformer, and determining a partial discharge area; a plurality of first ultrahigh-frequency sensors are arranged in the partial discharge area, and a second ultrahigh-frequency sensor is arranged outside the target transformer; determining an initial discharge positioning area in the partial discharge area; an ultrasonic sensor is arranged in the initial discharge positioning area; and determining the position of the discharge source according to the collected ultrasonic signal sent by the ultrasonic sensor in the discharge initial positioning area and the collected ultrahigh frequency signal sent by the ultrahigh frequency sensor in the discharge initial positioning area.
