The chemical formula of the single-crystal high-nickel ternary positive electrode material is LiNi < x > Mn < y > Co < z > O < 2 >, 1, 0lt; y is less than or equal to 0.2, 0lt; z < = 0.2, and x + y + z = 1. A finished product precursor and a lithium source are adopted as raw materials, and the single-crystal high-nickel ternary positive electrode material is synthesized through a four-step high-temperature solid-phase method. Different from a two-step sintering method in academic and industrial aspects, the preparation method of the single-crystal high-nickel ternary positive electrode material has three sintering stages, the sintering process in the second step is divided into two parts, and the effects of reducing the sintering temperature and reducing the high-temperature sintering time are achieved.
