The method comprises the following steps: realizing conversion from a pixel coordinate system to a world coordinate system by establishing high-precision mapping from a 2D pixel plane coordinate to a 3D space coordinate, then identifying a water area boundary in a video image at a pixel level, marking pixel coordinates and elevations of pixel points with known reference elevations, and finally, identifying the water area boundary in the video image at the pixel level.
