A lens for a lamp. The lens includes a front surface or a light exit surface, a reflective surface or a side surface, and a light incident surface or a light receiving surface. The front surface includes a portion defining a step-shaped cavity extending into the lens. A portion of light traveling from the light incident surface to the portion of the front surface (defining the step-shaped cavity) is transmitted, and another portion is reflected toward the reflective surface.
