The welding seam image shooting control method comprises the following steps: firstly, acquiring initial images shot by a camera under different laser powers; determining target laser power according to the laser stripe width in the initial image; and finally, adjusting the power of the laser to the target laser power, and controlling the camera to shoot. By calculating the most appropriate target laser power, the laser stripe width can be adjusted by adjusting the laser power, the optimal laser stripe width can be achieved on the premise that the exposure value is not changed, the image quality is guaranteed, and the welding seam detection effect is improved.
