Zusammenfassung:	In a bearing system of a motor having a bearing that can be operated as a gas-lubricated bearing by a pump, control relating to the bearing is accurately performed so as to deal with pump abnormality. A bearing system (100) is provided with: a sliding bearing (3) that can be operated as a gas-lubricated bearing by means of a pump (30); a rolling bearing (4); a switching mechanism (20) that switches between the sliding bearing and the rolling bearing; and a control device (50). The control device sets the switching mechanism so that the rolling bearing functions when the rotational speed of the motor is less than the first speed, and sets the switching mechanism so that the rolling bearing functions when the pump is normal and the rotational speed of the motor is equal to or greater than the first speed. The switching mechanism is set so that the sliding bearing functions and the pump is controlled so that the sliding bearing operates as a gas-lubricated bearing, and when the pump is abnormal, even if the rota
