A barrier article comprising a multi-layer article comprising a plurality of core layers and a plurality of binder layers, where at least one core layer comprises a woven or non-woven fibrous mat or fabric, and where at least one binder layer comprises a siloxane material. The plurality of core layers and the plurality of binder layers are arranged in an alternating manner. The barrier article is operably adjusted to withstand or withstand at least seven cycles of blast burner and grit testing.
