There is provided a memory device including a plurality of memory blocks including at least one sub-block, where the memory blocks include a first sub-block configured to store first data including at least one bit and a second sub-block configured to store second data including at least one bit. The second sub-block is configured to perform an erase operation independent of the first sub-block and store second data including at least one bit. The memory device is configured to perform a read operation on second data in response to performing a write operation on the second data in the second sub-block.
