Zusammenfassung: | An apparatus for detecting a change in the direction of rotation of a rotor of a magnetic bearing comprises:-determination means (102) configured to determine a distance between the axis of rotation of the rotor and the center of gravity of the rotor,-comparison means (103) configured to: o, determine a change in the direction of rotation of the rotor when the absolute value of the rotational speed of the rotor is greater than a predetermined imbalance detection speed threshold (SB); comparing the distance between the axis of rotation of the rotor and the center of gravity of the rotor with a predetermined threshold value (Se), and o detecting a change in the direction of rotation of the rotor according to a result of the comparison.
