The method comprises the following steps: by taking slag around a crucible and a smelted niobium ingot as a recycled raw material, crushing and grinding the slag to obtain slag particles, uniformly mixing niobium pentoxide and aluminum particles to obtain a mixed material, and putting the slag particles into a vacuum reactor according to a certain superposition manner for aluminothermic reduction reaction to prepare the aluminum-niobium alloy. And finally, the aluminum-niobium alloy is treated through a horizontal electron beam smelting furnace to prepare smelted niobium.
