The invention provides an Insertion-deletion (Idnel) molecular marker obviously associated with the thickness of a coix seed shell, when the genotype of the molecular marker is homozygous insertion, the seed shell is thin, and when the genotype of the molecular marker is homozygous deletion, the seed shell is thick.
