The method comprises the following steps: providing a ternary metal salt solution of nickel salt, cobalt salt and manganese salt; carrying out spray pyrolysis by adopting a ternary metal salt solution, replacing the ternary metal salt solution with a mixed solution containing a nickel salt, a cobalt salt, a manganese salt and a phosphorus source when the particle size of the ternary precursor is close to a target particle size, continuously carrying out spray pyrolysis by adopting the mixed solution until the particle size of the ternary precursor reaches the target particle size, and stopping the reaction to obtain the ternary precursor.
