The packaging apparatus comprises a folding device for folding the strip on itself at a transversely extending crease such that an upper surface of a first strip portion covers an upper surface of a second strip portion and compresses opposite longitudinal sides of the strip along respective locations of a longitudinally extending adhesive, to bond the opposite longitudinal sides of the strip.
