The method comprises the following steps: acquiring multiple frames of tunnel images continuously shot by a camera in a tunnel; wherein the shooting frequency of the camera is greater than a preset frequency; adopting a neural network model to identify the chipping disease in each tunnel image to obtain a target chipping area; adding the tunnel images containing the target chipping area in the multiple frames of tunnel images into an image set corresponding to the target chipping area, and sorting the tunnel images in the image set according to a time sequence; extracting a shadow area corresponding to the target chipping area in each tunnel image in the image set; and if each shadow area is firstly increased and then reduced according to the time sequence, determining that the target chipping area is a chipping disease.
