The invention relates to a filter element (10) for filtering air in a ventilation system of a mobile installation, comprising a multi-layer filter medium (10). According to the invention, the multi-layer filter medium has: a first filter layer (1) on the inflow side, which is designed as a pre-filter layer having a sterilization configuration; the second filter layer (2) is designed into a fine filter layer; and the third filter layer (3) is designed as a carrier layer of the fine filter layer.
