Zusammenfassung: | The invention provides a projector which has high light utilization efficiency and can switch irradiation areas. The projector includes: a light source; a polarization beam splitter that splits light from the light source into P-polarized light and S-polarized light; a first reflective display that modulates the separated P-polarized light; a second reflective display that modulates the separated S-polarized light; a projection lens on which reflected light from the reflective display is incident; and a deflection element disposed on the light emission side of the projection lens and capable of changing the traveling direction of the light in accordance with the incident polarized light.
