The method comprises the following steps: obtaining a plurality of engine thermal management parameters; constructing an air-air intercooler cooling efficiency index and a cooling system heat dissipation capability index according to the plurality of engine heat management parameters; and weights are preset for the air-air intercooler cooling efficiency index and the cooling system heat dissipation capacity index respectively, and the commercial vehicle engine heat management performance is evaluated.
