The method comprises the following steps: dissolving copper nitrate in a mixed solution of ethanol and N, N-dimethylformamide to obtain a solution (a), then adding benzimidazole into a mixture of ethanol and N, N-dimethylformamide to obtain a solution (b), transferring the mixed solution into a round-bottom flask for heating, and after the reaction is finished, centrifuging, washing and drying to obtain the HKUST truncated octahedron; the preparation method comprises the following steps: dissolving HKUST in water, adding a certain amount of tannic acid, stirring for a period of time at room temperature, and centrifuging, washing and drying to obtain the cross-shaped HKUST after the reaction is finished.
