The method comprises the following steps: step 1, determining an embedding position and an embedding depth of an eddy current sensor in a tunnel; 2, drilling a fault drill hole to a required depth, and setting a monitoring site; step 3, laying a waterproof sleeve around the monitoring site; 4, a probe and a metal conductor are embedded in the waterproof sleeve, and the probe is fixed to the inner wall of the drill hole through a bolt; and 4, connecting a lead of the probe to data acquisition equipment, and arranging a shielding case.
