| Zusammenfassung: | A process for polymerizing or copolymerizing ethylene in slurry polymerization in a reactor system comprising a polymerization reactor, one or more first heat exchangers external to the polymerization reactor, and a closed circuit of tempering medium for cooling or heating the first heat exchangers, the closed loop is equipped with a second heat exchanger for cooling the tempering medium and a third heat exchanger for heating the tempering medium, and wherein during polymerization, the slurry is cooled in the first heat exchanger, the temperature of the tempering medium cooling the first heat exchanger is in the range of from 20 DEG C to 50 DEG C, and the temperature of the tempering medium cooling the second heat exchanger is in the range of from 20 DEG C to 50 DEG C; and the tempering medium is cooled in the second heat exchanger by a coolant having a temperature of from-20 DEG C to 45 DEG C.
