The method for image reconstruction comprises: acquiring an image comprising information of a plurality of coincidence events (501); determining, for each of the plurality of coincidence events, an identification of two original scintillator elements, each scintillator element detecting photons of the coincidence event, according to information of the coincidence event (502); acquiring an interaction depth of each photon in the coincidence event within one of the two original scintillator elements (503); and determining identifications of two corrected scintillator elements according to the identifications of the two original scintillator elements and the interaction depth, each corrected scintillator element corresponding to one of the two original scintillator elements (504); and generating a reconstructed image according to the identification of the two corrected scintillator elements for each of the plurality of coin
