An imaging device is provided with: a tube; a light emitting unit disposed in the tube; a driver that switches between emission and non-emission of light from the light emitting unit; a camera that captures an image of the object; a controller that controls the operation of the driver and generates a display image using an image obtained from the camera; and a display that displays the display image, the controller generates a light position image corresponding to the light from the light emitting unit on the basis of the difference between the first image and the second image, sets the light position image to a visible color, overlaps the light position image with an appearance image of the object obtained from the camera, and displays the display image.
