An image processing apparatus and a method of operating the same are provided. The image processing apparatus includes: a luminance calculator configured to convert input image data into luminance image data including luminance values of a plurality of pixels; a noise calculator configured to generate a sum value obtained by adding a noise value corresponding to an adjacent pixel around a target pixel among the plurality of pixels and a luminance value of the adjacent pixel; a tone mapper configured to generate first mapping data and second mapping data by applying the first tone curve and the second tone curve to a luminance value of a target pixel and a sum value of adjacent pixels; a feature value calculator configured to calculate a first weight and a second weight of the first mapping data and the second mapping data; a gain mixer configured to adjust the first weight and the second weight and generate output image data; and a display device configured to display the image data. 提供一种图像处理设备和操作其的方法。所述图像处理设
