Shielding case as reinforcement on flexible printed circuit

Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a flexible printed circuit board (FPC) assembly including an FPC, an electrical connector mounted on a first surface of the FPC and configured to transmit data and power signals, and a shield mounted on a second surface of the FPC. The electrical connector may be a USB-C connector. The second surface of the FPC may be opposite the first surface of the FPC. The shield can surround an area on the second surface of the FPC that overlaps an area of the first surface of the FPC on which the electrical connector is mounted. An electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection component may be mounted within a shield on the FPC. The shielding case may be configured as a strain relief to make the FPC firmer, and may electromagnetically shield the ESD protection component.
