The method comprises the steps that under the condition that an information extraction instruction for a to-be-extracted file is received, text detection is conducted on the to-be-extracted file, and multiple target areas containing text sequences in the to-be-extracted file are determined; based on the position information of the target areas in the to-be-extracted file, a reading strategy for reading the to-be-extracted file is determined, and the reading strategy is used for determining the reading sequence of the target areas in the to-be-extracted file; after the text sequences of all the target areas in the to-be-extracted file are recognized, splicing processing is conducted on the recognized text sequences on the basis of the reading strategy, and a spliced text corresponding to the to-be-extracted file is obtained; and performing information extraction processing on the spliced text to obta
