The present invention relates to an oral composition capable of sufficiently exhibiting a tartar formation inhibiting effect of glycyrrhetinic acid or a salt thereof, and to an oral composition capable of sufficiently exhibiting a tartar formation inhibiting effect of glycyrrhetinic acid or a salt thereof. That is, the oral composition according to the present invention contains the following components (A)-(C): (A) 0.02-0.5 mass% of glycyrrhetinic acid or a salt thereof; (B) an amphoteric surfactant; (C) a monohydric alcohol or a dihydric alcohol, the mass ratio ((A)/(B)) of the content of the component (A) to the content of the component (B) being 90 or less, and the pH value at 25 DEG C being less than 8. 本发明涉及一种可以充分地发挥甘草次酸或其盐的牙垢形成抑制效果的口腔用组合物，涉及一种可以充分地发挥甘草次酸或其盐的牙垢形成抑制效果的口腔用组合物。即，本发明的口腔用组合物含有以下的成分(A)～(C)：(A)甘草次酸或其盐0.02质量％以上0.5质量％以下；(B)两性表面活性剂；(C)一元醇或二元醇，成分(A)的含量与成分(B)的含量的质量比((A)/(B))为90以下，且25℃下的pH值小于8。
