The invention relates to a side channel compressor for a fuel cell system for conveying and/or compressing a gaseous medium, in particular hydrogen, having: a housing; a compressor chamber in the housing, the compressor chamber having at least one circumferential side channel; a compressor wheel in the housing, the compressor wheel being arranged on a drive shaft rotatable about a rotational axis and driven by a drive, the compressor wheel having, on its periphery, a conveying unit arranged in the region of the compressor chamber; and an air inlet and an air outlet formed on the housing, the air inlet and the air outlet being fluidically connected to each other via a compressor chamber, in particular two side channels. According to the invention, the drive shaft is supported in the side-channel compressor, in particular in the housing of the side-channel compressor, by means of at least two magnetic bearings.
