Zusammenfassung:	Provided is a drive device for an electric vehicle in which the entire length of a housing in the direction of the rotational axis of an electric motor is shortened. An end portion on the motor chamber (24) side, which is a part of the decelerator chamber (26), enters the motor chamber (24) in the axial direction of the rotating shaft (30), so that the total length (L) of the housing (20) in the direction of the rotating shaft (30) of the motor (14) is shortened in accordance with the entry in the axial direction of the rotating shaft (30). Furthermore, a space (S) is formed in a portion of the motor chamber (24) that overlaps the decelerator chamber (26) when viewed in the radial direction of the rotating shaft (30) of the motor (14), and a power line (46) or an oil pump (50) connected to the motor (14) is disposed in the space (S).
