Obtaining at least one data of carotenoid abundance index and chlorophyll absorptivity index of the to-be-detected crop according to the obtained spectral reflectance of the to-be-detected crop at different wave bands, and detecting the growth process of the to-be-detected crop according to the carotenoid abundance index and/or chlorophyll absorptivity index. Inverting the carotenoid abundance index to obtain the carotenoid abundance of the to-be-detected crop leaf, and judging the health condition of the crop by comparing the carotenoid abundance of the to-be-detected crop leaf with the carotenoid abundance range of the crop in the healthy state; and performing inversion by using the chlorophyll absorption rate index to obtain a green leaf area index of the to-be-detected crop, and judging the growth condition of the to-be-detected crop by using the green leaf area index
