Zusammenfassung:Improved methods and systems for operating movable building elements (e.g., furniture) are described. The method includes receiving an indication of a detection event. The method includes performing movement of the movable building element from the first position to a second position in response thereto, wherein the second position is selected to reduce interference of the movable building element with a mitigation system configured to mitigate the detected event. The detection event includes at least one of fire, carbon monoxide, and smoke. A second position is selected based on a distance of the movable building element from the mitigation system. The second position is selected based on an orientation of the movable building element relative to the mitigation system.
