Identifying content items previously accessed by threshold number of client devices at location

Methods and systems for accessing links based on encoded objects are disclosed. For example, a messaging application implemented on a client device determines a location of the client device and identifies content items previously accessed by a threshold number of client devices at the location, the content item is previously accessed by each of the client devices in response to scanning a physical object encoding a link to the content item.
