The invention discloses a landslide mass treatment method which comprises the following steps: arranging a trash holding and wave dissipating system between a landslide mass and a hydraulic structure and/or water retaining equipment, the trash holding and wave dissipating system is used for reducing surges caused by collapse of the landslide mass so that the hydraulic structure and/or the water retaining equipment can bear the impact of the surges reduced by the trash holding and wave dissipating system and the surge height of the reservoir water level.
