Method and system for recommending run manual for detected event

Techniques are disclosed for selecting a run manual to recommend for remediating a detected event. When the system detects an event, the system obtains metadata associated with the event. The metadata provides information about events and a system topology of a system in which the events occur. The system generates a recommendation for a run manual of the remedial event based on one or both of the characteristics of the event and the characteristics of the topology in which the event occurs. The system compares the system topology to a system topology associated with a previously executed operating manual.
