The invention provides a composition for detecting a cancer marker. The composition comprises a reagent for measuring the mRNA or protein expression level of SNX8. SNX8 expression is used as the identification capability of a glioma diagnostic marker and the judgment capability of glioma prognosis, the area AUC under the curve is displayed to be 0.954, and SNX8 has high specificity and high sensitivity when being used for glioma diagnosis. The method has important significance for clinically evaluating the prognosis of glioma patients.
