The invention proposes a computer-implemented method for evaluating a medical image of a subject imaged with an X-ray system. The method proposes generating one or more positioning data sets which differ in at least one positioning parameter. An X-ray system images a medical image of the subject using the one or more positioning data sets. The acquired medical image is evaluated by measuring a quality metric in the medical image and comparing the measured quality metric to an evaluation criterion.
